The importance of cyber security has gained momentum, this being reflected not only in the number of data security incidents and data protection regulations, but in different campaigns and events that highlight the significance of prevention and protection.

Cybersecurity: a Shared Responsibility

October is a special month in the calendar of cyber security, as campaigns such as the European Cyber Security Month (ECSM), the National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) in the United States and Cyber Security Awareness Month in Canada take place. Throughout October, these initiatives seek to raise awareness, change behaviors, and provide accessible resources in order to educate people on how to stay safe online.

The European Cybersecurity Month is focusing on expanding awareness about cybersecurity to citizens across Europe. The 2019 campaign emphasizes two different themes: ‘Cyber Hygiene’ and ‘Emerging Technology’. The first theme uses the hygiene metaphor to inform about good cyber security habits that are part of everyone’s daily routine. The second theme recognises the importance of keeping citizens’s data and their new tech gadgets and devices secure.

The National Cybersecurity Awareness Month is a collaborative effort between government and industry with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of cybersecurity as well as ensuring safe practices online. This year’s slogan – Own IT. Secure IT. Protect IT. – focuses on key areas including citizen privacy, consumer devices, and e-commerce security.

The Cyber Security Awareness Month is focused on helping Canadian citizens be more secure online, by being informed and knowing the simple steps to take to protect themselves, their families, their workplace and their devices.

Endpoint Protector’s Data Security Tour

For us at Endpoint Protector, October means dynamic weeks. In the first part of the month, we’ve showcased our product at four different events, in four different countries. Of course, we’ve also had some traditional spectacular Lego giveaways.

MacSysAdmin

We’ve started off our data security journey at MacSysAdmin 2019 in Gothenburg, Sweden.  Held between 1-4 October, the event meant four days in the company of macOs and iOS admins, experts, and geeks. We’ve also had the privilege to present our award-winning Data Loss Prevention solution. As sponsors of the event, we have highlighted the importance of DLP in today’s highly digital world and the best ways to secure sensitive data. The event was also a great chance to talk about Mac and Data Loss Prevention in a relaxed atmosphere with friends, colleagues, customers and competitors from all over Europe and the world.

GITEX Technology Week

GITEX Technology Week brought together again the most innovative, exciting and ambitious tech startups from around the world. Organized at the Dubai World Trade Centre, it is the largest IT exhibition and the most important event in the Middle East’s IT and software calendar. In its 39th event, GITEX Technology Week showcased the latest trends and product innovations across the world. Around 4500 companies from more than 100 countries flocked to Dubai for 5 days of trade exhibitions, conferencing, networking and business meetings.

We have showcased our own Endpoint Protector at Booth SR-D20 in the Sheikh Rashid Hal where we’ve welcomed visitors for expert advice, talks on Data Loss Prevention and live personalized demos.

it-sa 2019 – The IT Security Expo and Congress

Europe’s leading trade fair for IT security, it-sa 2019, marked our third stop in the data security tour between 8-10 October. Based in Nuremberg, this year the event welcomed 750 exhibitors from 25 countries who presented the latest IT security solutions. it-sa is known as one of the most important platforms for solutions in the fields of cloud management, mobile and cyber security as well as data and network security in the world.

The Endpoint Protector team is a regular participant at the expo. Our data protection specialists were on hand to conduct demos of our award-winning cross-platform DLP products and welcome IT and business professionals looking to gain a deeper understanding of Data Loss Prevention.

IP EXPO Europe

For two days ExCeL London was filled with hundreds of IT Leaders, security specialists and digital transformation visionaries. IP EXPO Europe, part of Digital Transformation EXPO Europe was about learning, tech demos, training courses and showcases of next-generation products and solutions.

Our team of DLP experts welcomed guests and answered all questions about data protection, compliance and best practices to avoid data leakage and theft. The event was also a great opportunity to learn more about the latest features and improvements of our products for those interested.

Although October was a busy month, we don’t intend to stop. We’re also incredibly grateful to our partners who had a great contribution in making our data security tour successful.
