Infosecurity Europe 2018 once more welcomed information security professionals from around the world at the Olympia in London between 5-7 June. Europe’s largest and most comprehensive information security event, featuring over 240 free to attend conference sessions, more than 400 exhibitors and a staggering 19,500+ visitors, Infosecurity Europe 2018 is the place to be for anyone interested in feeling the pulse of the information security sector.
This year’s event was no different: tackling the theme of building tomorrow’s cybersecurity today, it offered a mix of panels and talks on already familiar risks along with those on emerging threats. After last year’s full-blown GDPR panic, data protection policies took a backseat to more attractive if considerably more worrying topics such as nation state attacks and AI and IoT related threats.
Baroness Dido Harding kicked off an exciting program of talks with a keynote that highlighted the need to acknowledge and mitigate the importance of cybersecurity. She also discussed her experience with the major cyberattack TalkTalk suffered in 2015 while she was its chief executive. The breach resulted in the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Officer (ICO) issuing a record fine: £400,000 for the leak of almost 160,000 customers’ personal data. Her openness was seen as a sign of a new willingness to discuss the issues behind major data breaches in a transparent way that may benefit other companies and help them avoid making the same mistakes in the future.
Endpoint Protector at Infosecurity Europe 2018
The Endpoint Protector team was in attendance as well, joining Infosecurity Europe’s many exhibitors in the Olympia’s splendid Grand Hall. Our Data Loss Prevention experts were on hand to showcase Endpoint Protector’s newest features such as time and network-based Device Control policies, Universal Offline Temporary Password, OCR scanning, automatic eDiscovery Scans and improved support for GDPR compliance through the introduction of new PIIs. Fruitful meetings and demo sessions were complimented by keen insights into data protection and compliance issues offered to all visitors to our booth.
Our CEO and Founder, Roman Foeckl, was also at the Endpoint Protector booth to welcome our longtime partners from the UK, Redcoin and our European partners present at Infosecurity: Renaissance from Ireland, Ireo from Spain and Bakotech from Poland among others. We were also pleased to see familiar faces from our Asian network, with one of our leading distributors in Malaysia, Halodata, visiting us during the event.
We were also thrilled to learn that Endpoint Protector was named Highly Commended in the Best Data Leakage Prevention (DLP) Solution category at the SC Awards Europe 2018 Gala which took place on 5th June at the impressive Marriott Grosvenor Square in London.
Like every year, Endpoint Protector organized its traditional LEGO Technic giveaway. This year’s prize was the LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron set which was won by Ian Major, Head of IT and Business Systems at Hush UK.
Infosecurity Europe 2018 was an exciting event, covering the latest trends and topics relevant to our sector and addressing the newest threats and issues faced by it head on. For the Endpoint Protector team, it was a chance to present the latest developments of our products, engage with partners and customers and introduce our solutions to newcomers. As we pack up our booth and the excitement winds down, our team is already looking forward to next year’s Infosecurity Europe 2019!
